Mike

Jr. High Head Coach

Mike and his family have lived in PG for 16 years and has loved it! He grew up in Oakley, Utah and started wrestling in elementary school. He wrestled at South Summit High School where wrestling quickly became his favorite sport. In high school he became a 2x region champ, State runner up, Tulsa Nationals runner up, Rocky Mountain Nationals runner up, and traveled to Moscow Russia to wrestle for team Utah in the Utah vs. Moscow Youth Olympic Games. He has been coaching youth programs for over 10 years, where he has loved watching kids find success not only in the sport of wrestling but also in the every other aspect of life. Coach Mike feels there is no better sport to prepare your son or daughter to take life head on and win. He is looking forward to helping continue the legacy of wrestling in our community

Derek Fisher

Assistant Coach

Derek grew up in Pleasant Grove and began wrestling at a young age with Team Utah Grapplers. He quickly fell in love with the sport and participated in as many clubs, tournaments, and duals as possible.

Derek wrestled at Pleasant Grove High School, where he was a four-time state qualifier and a three-time state placewinner, state runner-up, Rockwell Rumble Champion, and multiple-time Region and Divisional champion. As team captain during his senior year, he helped lead Pleasant Grove to three state championships and a runner-up finish, along with two Dual State titles and four Divisional and Regional championships.

Following an LDS mission, Derek went on to compete at the Division I level for Utah Valley University, where he gained valuable experience wrestling in the Big 12 Conference. After college, Derek’s love for the sport has only grown as he has coached multiple teams, serving as both head coach and assistant coach.
